Meet OSHA requirements for recognized hazards!

By Kristen Cifranic
July 16, 2015 Category: Quickconnectors, Fillingoxygen, Oxygencylinders, NPT, Connections

DID YOU KNOW according to OSHA Section 5(a)(1), employers must provide employees with a workplace free from recognized hazards including ergonomic hazards? Applieds quick connectors are a low cost way to eliminate repetitive motion injuries and increase productivity! Oxygen fillers can quickly connect and disconnect oxygen cylinders during the fill process with a simple lever. This increases filling speed up to 5 times! High Speed OxyFill Oxygen Quick Connectors work with all CGA-870 post valves, 1/2 NPT male inlet for use on oxygen manifolds (also available in 1/4 NPT). What is NPT? What size do I need? National Pipe Thread Taper (NPT) is a U.S. standard for tapered threads used on threaded pipes and fittings. In contrast to straight threads that are found on a bolt, a taper thread will pull tight and therefore make a fluid-tight seal. The typical sizes you will see in medical oxygen filling are 1/4 and 1/2 NPT. (The 1/4 and 1/2 names do not actually refer to the NPT sizing, but

Get the training you need!

Training Time! Getting the right training for your employees can be confusing. To help break it down, we listed the employees that need to receive training and what type of training is required. Within 90 days of hire If youve got a new hire, youll need DOT training within 90 days! The FDA requires cGMP training, too, before you can let your new filler out on his own. Every 3 years The US DOT requires that every employee receive three types of training at least every 3 years, and within 90 days of start of employment for new employees. The employees who should have this training are: All drivers, loaders and people in charge of storage of oxygen cylinders for ANY amount of oxygen delivered. (1 cylinder to over 1,001 lbs) The three types of training are: Job Specific Training Safety training for the hazardous material HazMat Security Awareness Training # OF-5000D: Delivery On-Demand Subscription Unlimited number of employees for an entire year! The biggest problems with your oxygen supplier now solved

Have you considered filling your own oxygen cylinders lately? Most companies can pay for a liquid to gas system in the first year and save about $10,000! The average savings over five years is $182,865! Now with competitive bidding and cost cutting, there has never been a better time to start filling oxygen! My supplier is increasing my oxygen cost, but I am getting paid less! SOLUTION: By filling your own cylinders you can increase your profits by 50% or more. Typically, an oxygen filler can pocket up to 2 bucks a cylinder or more by filling the cylinders themselves (a typical E cylinder is about 55 cents). I think my supplier is losing or damaging my cylinders. SOLUTION: By filling your own cylinders, your cylinders never leave your control. I think my supplier is overcharging me for my rental cylinders. SOLUTION: When you buy cylinders from Applied, you can either purchase by pallet (with free shipping) or lease to own the cylinders when you purchase your system. I dont

GHS Pictograms for Home Care Providers

OSHA, FDA and DOT haveguidelines developed forprecautionary labels for use onoxygen cylinders and cryogenicvessels. These are to be used toidentify the contents, warning ofprincipal physical and healthhazards, and providing appropriateprecautionary information. It is the responsibility of the company(s)that fills, stores, delivers, handles anduses the gas to ensure that the labelcomplies with applicable governmentregulations. When a chemical is classified according to the GHS hazard criteria adopted in OSHAs hazard communication (HazCom) standard, the corresponding pictogram must appear on the label, and either the pictogram or the pictogram name must appear on the safety data sheet (SDS). The HazCom standard uses nine different pictograms. The appropriate pictogram(s) must appear on the container label as a black GHS symbol in a red diamond border.Where a transport pictogram appears, the GHS pictogram for the same hazard should not appear. The two pictograms home care companies will
