Applied Training FAQs

Jan 15, 2014

Who Needs Training and When?

The FDA requires training on a "frequent and continuing basis," usually interpreted to be about twice a year. The Quality Control Unit, and all Oxygen Transfilling Personnel should have proper FDA training for their jobs. Drivers need training as a requirement for FDA if they fill from a transfill system or if they fill liquid to liquid curbside. The DOT requires drivers to have training "at least every 3 years, and within 90 days of employment for new employees."

What Training Do You Offer?

We offer Oxygen Safety Training, FDA cGMP Training, DOT HazMat Training and OSHA Training. Applied's experts have over 50 years of compressed gas experience.

How Can I Get Training?

Applied offers online classes, live seminars, traditional training workbooks and tools for in house trainers.

How Often Do I Need Training?

FDA requires training on a "continuing and frequent basis", which we interpet to mean as twice a year. The DOT requires training within 90 days of starting employment and every 3 years after.

What's the Difference Between All of these Types of Training?

Online classes are just that- classes offered online. They are on-demand videos of live training that are about an hour long, include an online test and a printable certificate. You can be trained within the hour you purchase the training! We also offer subscription services to our online classes, which allow for unlimited access, or a la carte purchases, for only one student to take one time.

Live Seminars are where we come to you! Our expert comes to a location near you, usually a major city and nearby an airport, and gives you a full day of training along with other students in a small classroom setting. This seminar prepares you to create your own training and teach your fellow employees. It's also a good fit for supervisors and QCU's.

Training Workbooks are paperback workbooks, some come with a DVD, that you can read or use as an aid in teaching your own classes. These workbooks come with an exam that you can copy and take, and then send to us to grade to receive a certificate of training.

In House Trainer Tools is a subscription based website that gives trainers access to customizable Power Points and guidance to use in inhouse training. Learn more here.

I Have Some Older Training Aids. Can I Still Get Certificates For Them?

We discontinued the following training aids on 10/31/2012. Due to the ever changing nature of the industry and legislation, we now expire and update our training aids annually. This is to make sure that you get the most up to date information possible. Below are suggested substitutes for our discontinued training aids. We can still grade and certify on discontinued training aids, but due to the added labor required to grade them, the certificates are  more expensive than the new, up to date training. Rather then send in old exams, we recommend purchasing the new training.
