DOT Cheat Sheet

The DOT has specific rules for what is required on board vehicles delivering medical oxygen or any hazardous material. It is important to follow these rules in order to avoid penalties and fines. Please see our DOT Cheat Sheet below for vehicle requirements:

What's Required On Board Vehicles

                   1. Things required to be on board for a vehicle 1,001 lbs and over:

  • Oxygen Manifest aka Shipping Papers (49 CFR 172.200
  • Fire Extinguisher  10BC (49 CFR 393.95) 
  • Spare Fuses (49 CFR 393.95)
  • 3 bi-directional reflective triangles (49 CFR 393.95)
  • ERG or equivalent information (49 CFR 172.602)

                    2. Things required on board any vehicle with a hazardous material that is engaged in commerce
(i.e. any of our customers vehicles):

  • Shipping papers (49 CFR 172.200)
  • ERG info (49 CFR 172.602)
