I know my employees need training, but who can train them? Can I? Or do I need to get a consultant?
There are two types of training that are generally accepted:
If you choose to do training in-house, you should be sure to cover current good manufacturing processes, and document the type, time and attendance at each session. An easy way to do this training in house is to use a training aid, such as the those available from Applied and other sources, that lays out the course and walks you through the steps to make sure your training is properly documented.
Qualified personnel means that the person who trains them needs to have the adequate qualifications to train. This can be a mix between on the job experience and formal training, but it all should be documented and the trainer's qualifications should be kept with the records that the personnel have been trained.
If you choose to hire an outside consultant, the training must be documented and the firm must also keep a record of the consultant’s name, address and qualifications. Training aids from Applied come with the Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the trainer who wrote the workbook or teaches the class in the video. The CV should be kept with personnel training records to show that the trainer is qualified.
